Why are Designers Unhappy at Work?

It’s no secret that many designers  —  despite working in creative, forward-thinking roles  —  are deeply unhappy with their jobs. They aren't just occasionally unhappy, but rather chronically dissatisfied, burned out, or even cynical and disillusioned.

There isn’t a single cause that pushes designers to feel this way. Rather, the causes are so widespread that it’s easy to see why so many designers are feeling adrift in their careers.
